A Creative Background. A Business-Minded Approach
I originally went to school for art and design.
I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee with a BFA in Graphic Design, and my early career was exactly what you'd expect from that background. Graphic design, publication design, branding and eventually Art Director.
Then the internet changed everything.
Websites became more important. Search became more important. Analytics became better. Google Ads came along. Social media took off. Businesses suddenly had dozens of different ways to reach customers.
I kept learning.
What started as a creative career gradually became a marketing career.
From Designer to Marketing Leader
After working as an Art Director, I moved into roles as a Marketing Coordinator and Digital Marketing Manager before founding Lime Group in 2010.
As my career evolved, I became less interested in marketing for marketing’s sake and more interested in what the work actually does for a business.
Does the phone ring?
Are we generating better leads?
Can customers find the company?
Does the website explain why someone should choose the business?
Are we spending money in the right places?
Can we actually tell what’s working?
Those are the questions I care about.
Building Lime Group
I founded Lime Group in 2010 and built a business around direct relationships, practical marketing advice, and personal accountability.
Clients work directly with me, from the first conversation through strategy, design, implementation, and ongoing improvements.
That puts me close to the decisions business owners make every day: where to invest, what to prioritize, and how to reach the right customers. I help bring those decisions into focus and translate them into a clear marketing plan.
When owners, sales teams, and departments have different priorities, I listen, identify the common goal, and help move the work forward.
Creative Thinking. Business Perspective.
My design background still influences the way I approach marketing.
I care about how something looks, but I care just as much about why it exists.
A beautiful website that doesn’t generate business isn’t doing its job.
A Google Ads campaign that generates the wrong leads isn’t successful just because the click-through rate looks good.
And ranking number one for something nobody searches for doesn’t accomplish much either.
Strategy, creative and execution have to work together.
That’s the approach I’ve developed over more than two decades in this business.
How I Work
I’m curious by nature.
I like learning how businesses work, particularly businesses outside of marketing.
Industrial equipment. Healthcare. HVAC. Manufacturing. Government. Professional services. Local businesses.
Every industry has its own language, customers, sales process and challenges. Learning those differences is one of the things that has kept marketing interesting to me after more than 20 years.
I don’t walk into a room assuming I know someone’s business better than they do.
They know their business.
My job is to ask good questions, learn it quickly, bring the marketing perspective, and help figure out where we go from there.
And after all this time, I still like making things.
Sometimes that’s a website. Sometimes it’s a brand or campaign. And sometimes it’s simply taking a complicated marketing problem and turning it into a plan everybody can understand.

What I Bring to the Next Opportunity
I bring the perspective of a business owner, the eye of a designer, and more than 20 years of practical marketing experience.
I’m comfortable setting the direction, explaining the reasoning, and taking responsibility for execution. I enjoy learning a business, working with the people who know it best, and building a plan they can understand and act on.
That’s the experience I’m ready to bring to my next marketing leadership opportunity.
